Generated imageAuthority That Cannot Be Shaken

We live in a culture that loves independence. Everyone wants to be their own boss, set their own rules, and “manifest” their own power. But the Kingdom of God doesn’t run on independence — it runs on authority. And not just any authority: the authority of Christ.

Every ounce of spiritual authority that flows through us as believers is borrowed authority. It doesn’t originate in us. It originates in Jesus, the cornerstone, the risen King who defeated death and declared that all authority belongs to Him. When we submit to Him, His authority becomes our inheritance. When we resist Him, we’re powerless.

Obedience Unlocks Authority

Authority isn’t given to the rebellious. It’s entrusted to the obedient. This truth runs through the entire Bible.

  • Abraham (Hebrews 11:8):

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” Abraham didn’t argue, delay, or demand proof. He obeyed — and God credited it to him as righteousness.

  • Noah (Genesis 6–7):

Noah built an ark before the first drop of rain ever hit the ground. That wasn’t logic; that was obedience. And his obedience saved his family and preserved humanity.

  • Moses (Exodus 18–35):

God not only gave Moses the Law but also appointed leaders under him to help shepherd the people. Spiritual authority flowed downward — from God, to Moses, to leaders, to the people. And when Israel followed God’s appointed authority, they prospered. When they resisted, they fell into chaos.

The pattern is clear: submission to God’s authority leads to blessing. Rebellion leads to ruin.

Acts 19: A Warning Against Counterfeit Authority

In Acts 19:14–16, the seven sons of Sceva tried to cast out demons “in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches.” They wanted the appearance of authority without the submission it requires.

The demon’s response says it all:

“Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?”

The men were beaten and exposed because they had no true covering of Christ’s authority.

This is why submission matters. Authority isn’t about shouting louder, praying harder, or looking spiritual. It’s about obedience to Christ, repentance from sin, and a heart that says, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Love = Obedience

Jesus didn’t mince words:

“If you love me, keep my commands.” – John 14:15

Love in the Kingdom isn’t just an emotion — it’s loyalty, expressed in obedience.

Every act of obedience is an act of love. Every act of submission positions us for greater blessing. Every act of faith-filled obedience expands the Kingdom.

The Blessing of Alignment

When we align with Christ’s authority, we align with His power. We don’t walk in fear, striving, or self-made strength. We walk in confidence, knowing the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is empowering us.

That’s why obedience isn’t a burden — it’s a privilege. It’s the doorway into anointing. It’s how the Kingdom moves forward, one act of submission at a time.

Final Call

The question is simple: are we living under Christ’s authority, or are we trying to operate on our own?

The Kingdom isn’t advanced by rebels, but by sons and daughters who fully submit.

Like Abraham stepping out, like Noah building the ark, like Moses leading God’s people — obedience is the foundation of authority. And authority is what positions us to carry the Kingdom forward in power.

Submit to Christ. Walk in His authority. Step into real Kingdom power.
